Paris-based photographer Fabrizio Maltese is in Sydney for the Sydney Film Festival to present 'Role/Play', an exhibition of large-scale photographic portraits of iconic film stars and filmmakers photographed at the world's major film festivals.
The exhibition includes portraits of Woody Allen, Terry Gilliam, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Bridges, Gary Oldman, Sarah Bolger, John C Reilly, Ezra Miller, Antonio Banderas, Willem Dafoe, Michael Fassbender and many more.
Maltese will photograph Sydney Film Festival guests throughout the event, adding new work to the exhibition daily.
Maltese’s work has been published in Elle, StudioCinéLive, Cinéaste, Sunday Telegraph, Style, Grazia and De Filmkrant amongst others. More recently, his photographs were featured in The Hollywood Reporter's 'Oscar Giants' portfolio and on the cover of Sight & Sound.
The exhibition is now showing at the Sydney Film Festival Hub at Lower Town Hall (483 George Street, enter on Druitt Street) from 5-10pm Monday to Saturday and 2 to 6pm Sundays. It closes Sunday 17 June.
