Sony claims its new lineup of XQD S-series
memory cards is the world’s fastest, with file
transfer speeds of up to 168 MB/s.
In
tests conducted by Sony a Nikon D4 with the new card was
able to capture 108 frames in RAW format in continuous shooting mode. A new device driver for Thunderbolt
compatible devices will be available for download from August 2012 and will
allow users to transfer files at even quicker speeds, when used with a
compatible card reader.
The XQD S comes in
capacities of 32GB and 64GB and will be available from August 2012. Pricing will
be announced soon.
