Sony Alpha Awards open for 2019

Entries are now open for the 2019 Sony Alpha Awards, with more than $25,000 in prizes up for grabs.

Open to photographers shooting Sony Alpha cameras and lenses, the award has a selection of nine categories: Portrait, Landscape, Nature, Sport and Youth, and for the first time in 2019; Seascape, Astrophotography, Wedding and City / Street.

Photographers will compete for $2,000 of Sony digital imaging gear per category, with each of the category winners also having the chance to win the overall Grand Prize which is $10,000 worth of Sony digital imaging gear.

In 2018 the competition attracted over 5,000 entries.

As well as the wider competition, a standalone Youth competition will also run this year and is aimed at recognising young Australian and New Zealand photographers aged 11-18 years old.
