Redrock Micro has released a new motorised, moving camera platform that allows DSLR filmmakers to add smooth motion effects to interviews, documentaries, and product videos.
The One Man Crew does not need an operator and uses an electronic motor to move the camera over a parabolic path to keep the subject in focus and stationary in the frame.
The full length of the track is 96cm, though the camera's movement can be limited to operate over a smaller range. The speed of the unit can be programmed before shooting or changed in real time. It can also be set to start, stop, or change direction, accelerate or decelerate during shooting.
The self-contained unit attaches to any standard tripod and can be set up in around one minute. It's compatible with any camera and lens combination weighing up to 9kg.
