SkyPixel and DJI open their 6th Annual Aerial Photo & Video Contest
A callout has just been announced for entries to the sixth annual Aerial Photo and Video Competition run by SkyPixel and co-organised with drone manufacturer DJI.
SkyPixel is a global online community for aerial photography and videography, and in a bid to give creators more options for visual storytelling, they have added five new categories to this year’s competition, bringing the total number of categories to eleven.
For 2021, the prize pool is valued at $83,000 USD ($110,000 AUD).
As suggested by the competition’s title, entrants have the option of submitting their work in the form of photographs or videos. The video categories are Vlog, FPV, Travel, Showreel, Hometown and Sport. The photography categories include Architecture, Portrait, Nature, Sport and Environment.
Entrants are welcome to submit as many photos and videos as they like, but they cannot enter the same photo or video in multiple categories. Additionally, entrants are not confined to using a particular brand or type of equipment for shooting their entries.
This year’s judging panel is made up of award-winning photographers, filmmakers and videographers, including Chris Schmid, Roie Galitz, Toby Strong and Nathan McBride, Wang Jianhua, and influencer couple Roy and Sue.
Entries close on February 18 2021. You can get all the details about entering the competition on SkyPixel’s website here.
