Congratulations to Lynn Stephens-Tait who has won our September 'Birds' photo competition with her image Egret Ballet, as selected by our guest judge, Mark Rayner of Trekabout Photography.

As winner, Lynn wins a 12-month print subscription to either Australian Photography or Capture.

In choosing the image, Mark said,

"I love the simplicity of this image. The almost monotone treatment works very well to direct our attention to the centerpiece, the gorgeous spread of fine feathers full of intricate detail. Not lost on us is the need for constant grooming to keep everything in order!

Technically well crafted to bring the viewer superb sharpness and focus. Well done!"

Mark also chose three special mentions:

Dominic Deligny, Scarlet Honeyeater
