Planning is underway for Photokina 2012, with organisers predicting that 1,200
suppliers from more than 40 countries will take part in this year’s ‘World of
Imaging’ trade show.
Held in
Cologne, Germany, every second year, the event attracted 180,000 visitors from
over 160 countries when it was last held in 2010.
The fair is
expected to include several changes to its content this year. Organisers say Photokina
2012 will take greater account of the fact that more photographers are using
their cameras to not only take photos but also make videos. An area will serve
as a central meeting place where the latest video products will be presented
along with large-format video presentations.
The mobile
imaging sector, and in particular smartphones, will also have its own special
area where visitors will be able to experience a range of new mobile imaging products
and applications.
Photokina 2012 runs
from 18-23 September 2012.
