Iconic American photographer Joe McNally will tour Australia and New Zealand in May 2012, hosting photographic seminars and workshops in Sydney, the Gold Coast, Auckland and Melbourne.
Over a 30-year career McNally has shot cover stories for National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, LIFE, TIME, Newsweek, Fortune, New York, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, and Men’s Journal. He has been at various times been a contract photographer for Sports Illustrated and a staff photographer at LIFE. He is has been a contributor to National Geographic for the past 23 years.
The Through the Lens Tour program includes: “30/60”, a two-hour evening talk by McNally about his career and experiences in photography; Lessons in Flash, a four-hour afternoon seminar on flash photography including a live photo shoot on stage; and “Capture the Light”, a one-day workshop where attendees participate in an on-site photo shoot with McNally, who will offer coaching and feedback throughout the day. The Capture the Light workshop is limited to 20 people.
