A photography competition with a difference is putting a spotlight on the people involved with Australian community radio and TV.

The Community Radio & TV is YOU Photographic Competition is currently being promoted by the Community Broadcast Foundation (CBF) under the theme ‘Radio is You'.

2016 Winner, Paul Wiles: Focus on volunteers and/or staff - $500
Station: CAAMA
Warren H Williams is an Arrentre Man from Hermannsburg 131 km Southwest of Alice Springs. Warren was the first remote broadcaster on the CAAMA Network and has gone on to be a Senior/Language broadcaster and mentor.

The competition gives photographers the chance to win cash prizes for capturing the essence of community radio and TV.

There are four cash prizes of $500:

  • $500 prize for each of the two categories (creators and consumers)
  • $500 People's Choice award
  • $500 prize for the station connected to the People's Choice winner

As well as prizes, successful entrants will have their image featured in the CBF Annual Report, online and promoted to the media. Winners will also receive a printed and framed photo of their entry which will also be displayed in the CBF offices.

 Winning images will be of high quality (resolution) with a minimum photo size of 1MB (minimum of 1024 pixels on its shortest side) to a maximum of 8MB.

The Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) is Australia's largest funder of community radio and TV stations and has been supporting community owned and operated media for over 30 years.
