Photographer of the Year 2025 is now open for entries!
We're delighted to announce our flagship annual photo competition, Photographer of the Year presented by Ted's Cameras, is now open for entries.
Over the past decade, Photographer of the Year has become an important launchpad for many amateur photographers in Australia and New Zealand.
For 2025, entrants will compete for a prize pool valued at more than $28,000, $10,000 more than last year, and a selection of the winning and runner-up images will be exhibited at Ted's World of Imaging in Sydney.
In addition, more than 500 of the best images will feature in a special Photographer of the Year edition of Australian Photography magazine in December 2025.
Photographer of the Year includes six portfolio categories – Landscape, Animal & Nature, People, Aerial, Travel and Black & White – and three single-image categories – Single Shot, Creative and Junior (for entrants under 18).
To enter the competition you must be an amateur photographer (as defined in the terms and conditions), and a citizen or resident of Australia or New Zealand.
We're hugely grateful to our great sponsors Ted's cameras, and supporting partners Kudos Cameras, Photobookshop, Ilford, Gigabyte, Retouch4Me, Billingham, Jobo, Kaiser FotoTechnik, and The Brownbill Effect.
Currently, we're offering discounted early bird pricing of just $25 an entry ($15 for junior) until 20 July 2025.
