Australian Photography editor Robert Keeley will accompany a photography tour through China later this year.

The 18-day tour departs on 13 October and will take in Beijing, Xian, Kunming, Lijian, Hangzhou, Yellow Mountain and Shanghai. Organised by VJ Events, the escorted and fully inclusive tour will also visit sites such as Tiananmen Square, the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall. The city of Kunming is high in a mountain range and is near the UNESCO listed stone forest, Lijian has an ancient canal system and a maze of historic cobbled streets, Hangzhou is regarded as one of the most beautiful environments in the country and Yellow Mountain has a wide range of wildlife and outstanding scenery. Shanghai is a western-oriented city, described by some as “The Paris of the East”.

VJ Events organiser Milo Millar says the tour, with its particular focus on photography, will give keen photographers a great opportunity to explore the imaging highlights of the country and to take lots of landscape, architecture, and people photos in a controlled environment, with local guides assisting.

Australian Photography editor Robert Keeley will accompany the tour to offer expert photography advice to all participants.

The tour costs $3899 per person s/twin with a $650 single supplement. Included in the fee is a return economy airfare, twin-share four-star hotel accommodation, meals (including a gala dinner), local transport, Chinese domestic travel insurance, English-speaking tour guide service, entrance fees, tips and gratuities and an overall Australian tour leader.
