Panasonic Australia has released a new video camera based on the Micro Four Thirds mount, the AG-AF102AEN Memory Card Camcorder.

Replacing the AG-AF102EN, the new model is aimed at professional videographers and shares many of the functions of its predecessor including an 18-bit DSP optimised for video processing, internal optical ND Filters, and two-channel XLR audio inputs. Video encoding has been upgraded to AVCHD version 2.0 (AVCHD Progressive) allowing recording, playing and outputting (via HDMI) of Full-HD progressive (1080/59.94p, 1080/50p) movies. The camera also supports uncompressed 16-bit LPCM 2-channel audio recording.

Native Micro Four Thirds Lenses can be fitted directly while Cinema lenses and others can be fitted with adapters.

A new focus-assist system enlarges the centre of the displayed image and the camera can output 10-bit Raw video files to external recording devices compatible with 10-bit recording.

The AG-AF102AEN Memory Card Camcorder is available with a retail price of $5691.
