Nikon has launched three new Coolpix compact digital cameras – the S3700, S2900, and the L31.
Nikon’s three latest Coolpix compact digital cameras, its S3700, S2900, and the L31, are designed for use every day by enthusiasts recording family events and social occasions. The manufacturer says the S3700 has a 20.1 megapixel sensor and an 8x optical zoom (shooting from 25mm to 200mm in 35mm equivalent) as well as 16x Dynamic Fine zoom. This refers to areas in which the camera can zoom while maintaining resolution from the maximum optical telephoto zoom position.
The S3700 has an EXPEED C2 image-processing engine and Vibration Reduction mode, which reduces camera shake, even at 8x zoom. It also incorporates a Target Finding autofocus which will detect the key subject. It uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to establish initial settings for Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi also allows instant photo sharing of pre-selected images for a compatible smart device. And the unit also offers a wide range of retouching options.
The new Coolpix S2900 is less than 20mm thick and is easily carried in a pocket or handbag. Nikon has fitted it with a range of automatic shooting functions, as well as 5x optical zoom and 10x Dynamic Fine zoom, Target Finding autofocus, and a Scene Auto Selector with 15 options. It also has a one-button movie mode in 720p format.
The Coolpix L31 is a 16.1 megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom (wide angle 26mm to 130mm in 35mm format), a blur-reduction function and a Scene auto Selector mode which identifies the optimal setting. It can also apply special effects, and record 720p movies. The L31 runs on two AA-sized alkaline batteries.
