Olympus is set to launch a new flagship model in its lineup of 'Tough' waterproof compact cameras. The Stylus Tough TG-3 features built-in Wi-Fi and GPS and is waterproof to 10m, 'drop-proof' to 2.1m and freeze proof to -10°C.

The 16-megapixel compact camera houses a 25-100mm (equivalent) zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2 at closing down to f/4.9 at full zoom. A new Variable Macro System (VMS) offers users a choice of five macro-modes, with a maximum display magnification of 44.4x in Microscope mode. Built-in focus stacking helps to get around the problem of narrow depth of field in macro images.

A range of accessories are available for the TG-3, including waterproof fisheye and telephoto converter lenses, an LED light for macro illumination, and an underwater housing that extends the underwater depth raining of the camera to 45m.

The TG-3 will be available in black and red versions from June 2014 with a recommended retail price of $499.
