Accompanied by reflections from players and personalities including AFLW midfielder Ally Anderson, NRLW lock Keilee Joseph, musician Tim Rogers, and Coodabeen Champions Ian Cover and Jeff Richardson, Footy Country explores how football connects Australians to each other and to their communities.

“This isn’t country footy; this is footy country. Our footy country,” White says.

Known for blending portraiture, observation, and art, White has established himself as one of Australia’s leading photographers.

He says Footy Country grew from a commercial project celebrating regional football into a moving portrait of sport, place, and identity.

The large (32.5 x 23 cm) hardcover 300-page photobook is published by Hardie Grant Books. It retails for $65.
