The July 2013 issue of Australian Photography + digital is out now in newsagencies and on iPad.

The latest issue of Australian Photography + digital filled to the brim with news, photographer profiles, photo tips, competitions, product reviews and much more.

Our cover story this issue looks at the finer points of landscape photography with 24 tips to help you improve your technical and creative skills in this challenging discipline. Andrew Fildes covers all aspects of landscape photography, from shooting basics to composition tips and the possibilities in post-production. Whether you're a rank beginner or an advanced photographer there's plenty of useful advice to help you take your landscapes to the next level.

For inspiration, we talk to award-winning press photographer Kate Geraghty. She discusses the ever-changing face of photojournalism, the challenges of shooting conflicts and destruction, and why she'd rather be assigned to shoot a war zone than a wedding.

If you've ever been faced with an interesting subject but were unsure how to shoot it, Darran Leal has some suggestions to help you explore the angles and make the most of a given scene. Leal discusses a recent trip to Turkey and works through the various scenes he photographed and their possibilities. He covers tips on photographing people, how simple changes in angle can vastly improve an image and why planning beforehand goes a long way.

Also in the July issue, Mark Galer walks you through a step-by-step project in order to show how the pros extract maximum detail from their Raw images in Adobe Lightroom. Galer aims to add a 'human touch' to his images and he shows you how to do that with your own pictures.

We also go behind the lens with award-winning portrait photographer Vicki Bell, who shares a unique portrait influenced by her memories of childhood.

If you're interested in new gear Anthony McKee lists of favourite favourite photo accessories and tests  Nikon's new DSLR, the D7100.

The print edition of Australian Photography + digital will be available in newsstands and delivered to subscribers later this week. The iPad version is available at the App Store now.
