The VAC Gallery holds exhibitions curated by Public Record Office Victoria (the archive of State and Local Government in Victoria) and the Victorian branch of the National Archives of Australia.

For the Gallery's latest exhibition, Collective City, set to open in July, the gallery plans to feature historic images of Melbourne from state and federal government archives, alongside images representing Victoria today, curated from submissions by contemporary street photographers.

The gallery says it is seeking images that explore ways people connect and work together in Victoria's urban and suburban environments.

"We're also examining the divisions created by inequity of access to services and public spaces," the Gallery's website says.

It is free to submit work for consideration for exhibition, with submissions closing on Tuesday 11 April 2023. Image rights remain with the photographer, and images will not be sold at the exhibition.
