Manfrotto has launched the PIXI mini tripod, a lightweight and portable unit,made for stabilising small still and video cameras. With the
legs folded in, the PIXI also provides a comfortable video grip to improve
steadiness when shooting videos. A camera set on the tripod can be quickly and
easily re-positioned via a one-touch button which locks and unlocks the ball
head. PIXI is made from stainless steel and a material known as Adapto, a premium polymer which
provides a high-quality and easily gripped finish.
With solid construction and
rubberised feet, the mini tripod has a universal ¼in (6.25mm) screw thread and it can be used with a wide variety of devices,
including compact cameras, compact system cameras and entry-level DSLRs with a total weight of 1kg including body and lens. The PIXI can also be used with Manfrotto's KLYP iPhone case.
Other specifications include a tilting
range of plus or minus 35° and a panoramic rotation of 360° degrees. The unit weighs
0.23kg and when closed down it’s 18.5cm long. It sells for $50.
