Lisa Saad AIPP disqualification sees 13 photographers elevated
Following Lisa Saad's disqualification from the Australian Institute of Professional Photography's (AIPP) national and state awards in late February, 13 new award winners have been named.
The most prestigious award, 2016 Australian Professional Photographer of the Year, has gone to Cairns-based portrait photographer Peter Rossi.
Lisa Saad's membership of several organisations including the AIPP, NZIPP and the WPPI was rescinded after it was revealed she had appropriated an image by Dutch photographer Marcel van Balken and used clip art in a number of her award-winning images in contravention of competition rules.
According to website www.photostealers.com, which broke the story at the beginning of the year, over 30 awards won by Saad in national and international competitions have now been revoked.
The Saad disqualifications sees the following photographers elevated to first place in AIPP state and national awards dating back to 2015.
