LaCie has released a faster version of its d2 hard drive with includes USB 3.0 and an Apple Thunderbolt connectors.
The new connection options allow the drive to perform at speeds up to 180MB/s – twice as fast as FireWire 800 and nearly four times faster than USB 2.0. At these speeds users can transfer a 10GB project in less than a minute.
The drive offers 256-bit AES encryption, and up to 4TB of storage.
