Congratulations to Edi Ivancic who has won our January 'Green' photo competition with their image Checkered facade, as selected by our guest judge, pro photographer Drew Hopper.

Here's what Drew had to say about the image:

"Edi has cleverly composed an abstract image that is more art than architecture and challenges the viewer to focus on the architectural intricacies. Although the facade patterns may appear straightforward at first glance, it's the nuanced details and colours which grab the viewer's attention.

The rhythmic repetition of facade patterns and reflected windows evoke a sense of voyeurism and interest as we look for life within. Overall, a truly captivating and rather unique take on this month's theme 'Green'."

Edi wins a 12-month print subscription to either Australian Photography or Capture magazine for taking out the comp this month.

Drew also picked out three honourable mentions, Julie Kenny, Tree of Life, Ros Osborne, Fire's Long Term Impact and Sheila Peake, Algal flow in River.
