The global photography competition seeks to showcase the world’s best landscape and seascape imagery, and offers a prize pool of $10,000 USD for the top three portfolios, with the top 101 images also published in a hardcover book.

There are also five special awards which change from year-to-year, with this year's special awards the 'wildlife in landscape' award, the 'abstract aerial' award, the 'snow and ice' award, the 'lone tree' award and the 'heavenly cloud' award.

The competition will be judged by photographers David Burnett, Kaye Davis, Jim M Goldstein, Adam Gibbs and Tim Parkin.
