Image Makers Association launches 2026 Mentorship Program
The Image Makers Association Australia has opened applications for its 2026 mentorship program, offering emerging photographers a chance to develop their careers under the guidance of some of the country’s leading practitioners.
The program will select five early-career photographers to take part in a structured mentorship, pairing each with an established industry figure for one-on-one guidance and project development.
The initiative is designed to provide practical insight into the professional photography landscape, alongside personalised feedback on creative work.
This year’s mentor lineup includes Jeremy Shaw, Lisa Cohen, Sean Fennessy, Cieran Murphy and Jessie Prince, all of whom have volunteered their time to support the next generation of image-makers.
Applications are open to student members and those classified as assistant or emerging photographers. Non-members are also eligible, provided they join the Image Makers Association Australia before 31 May 2026.
The program is supported by Nikon, which will also award one standout participant with a $5,000 equipment grant. The recipient, selected by the association’s committee, will be able to choose Nikon gear to support their ongoing creative practice.
Further details and application information are available via the association’s website.
