Head On Photo Festival returns to Sydney
Australia's biggest photography event and one of the world’s leading photography festivals, Head On, is set to return for 2017 to Sydney's CBD. Bringing with it more than 180 exhibitions this year, a record in it's seven year history, the festival’s director, Moshe Rosenzvieg, has described the three-week long festival as the biggest yet.

Exhibition highlights this year include Adelaide photographer Aaron Bradbrook's The Working Class, a series that seeks to expose the stigma that artists are a ‘drain on the economy’ while also attempting to establish a more respectable value of not only the artist, but art and culture in Australian society.
Inscapes by Dutch photographer Astrid Verhoef seeks to bridge the gap between modernity and nature by showcasing the meditative quality she feels between the two, while Animal Lovers by Italian photographer Diana Bagnoli focuses on women and their pets, a special relationship that brings daily joy to the lives of her subjects. Markus Klinko’s Bowie Unseen will show rare images of the late rock star from 2002, displaying his sharp style and spirit.
The Festival encompasses the prestigious Head On Awards (Portrait, Landscape, Mobile and Student Prizes) with the 2017 Prize Packages valued at over $50,000.
Various events will be featured at Town Hall in the Sydney CBD from the 5th-28th of May, as well as at Paddington Town Hall and Reservoir Gardens.
