Fujifilm has released its smallest X-series camera yet, the XQ1. The pocket-sized camera measures just 100 x 58.5 x 33.3mm (w x h x d) and uses the same 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II as the well-regarded Fujifilm X20.

The built-in 25-100mm (equivalent) zoom lens offers a reasonably fast maximum aperture range of f1.8 to f4.9 and includes four aspherical and three extra-low-dispersion lenses.

Key specs include 12-megapixel resolution, sensitivity from 100 to 12800 ISO, optional peaking focus display, wireless image transfer, HD video, built-in flash and Fujifilm’s Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) which is designed to improve edge-to-edge image sharpness.

Available in Black or Silver, the XQ1 is expected in Australia in November 2013 with a retail price of $579.
