Buried in amongst today's announcements of a new 200mm f/2 and 8-16mm f/2.8 lens, was the news that FujiFilm is working on a new 33mm f/1.0 lens, which, when it arrives, will be the world's first mirrorless f/1.0 autofocus lens.

The new lens will be equivalent to a 50mm f/1.0 lens in 35mm terms, and is just one of a bevy of new lenses Fujifilm are currently working on, including a 16mm f/2.8 and 16-80mm f/4 OIS, to be launched in 2019.

The bad news is we won't get to see the new lens anytime soon - Fujifilm is planning to launch the 35mm f/1.0 sometime in 2020, and it is possible someone else may come out with an autofocus f/1.0 lens before then.
