Congratulations to Benjamin Hams who has won our February 'Unusual Angles' photo competition with his image Something Different, as selected by our guest judge, pro photographer Dylan Giannakopoulos.

Here's what Dylan had to say about the image:

"The beauty of February’s theme of ‘unusual angles’ is that there are several ways in which you could interpret it. Whether the image contains unusual angles or a more abstract perspective, considering the position or angle that the image was captured from, there are many ways to view this brief.

There is simply nothing usual about the way this image has been captured and composed. The decision to place the horizon line at a very unconventional angle has created a strong leading line that dissects the image whilst enabling the steeple in the reflection to be upright.

Similarly, the choice to photograph the church in the reflection rather than facing directly in front was a wise decision. If you were to look at the elements of this image on their own, a simple photograph of a suburban street and church, you wouldn’t give them a second look.

But the creative decisions made by the photographer to employ unusual angles to their advantage have turned these otherwise unassuming elements into a unique composition and eye-catching image.

Dylan also chose three honourable mentions:
