February 'Great Outdoors' free monthly comp: the winners announced!
Congratulations to Tejas Margapuram who has won our February 'Great Outdoors' photo competition for their image Shower, as judged by our guest judge, photographer Tim Robinson.
Commenting on Tejas' winning image, Tim said,
There are a lot of elements in this image that come together to tell a great story. The minimalist composition has been created by using a fast shutter speed, which has created great contrast and drama in the sharp water droplets of the waterfall. The lines lead you to the human subject, although small in the frame, stands out because the splash of red colour is not seen elsewhere in the image. The pose of the subject reflects that of a moment of serenity after perhaps a long hike to this location and to me it screams the great outdoors. Well done on a great image and story.
As winner, Tejas has won an incredible Datacolor SpyderX monitor calibration system valued at $330 thanks to our great sponsors Kayell Australia.
Our guest judge Tim has also given a special mention to the following three entries:
Over on Facebook, Jessica Stoakes has won our People's Choice award for their image Daybreak, which garnered over 160 likes!
As People's Choice winner, Jessica has won a 12-month digital subscription to either Australian Photography or Capture magazine.
