February 'Great Outdoors' free monthly comp: the winners announced!

Congratulations to Tejas Margapuram who has won our February 'Great Outdoors' photo competition for their image Shower, as judged by our guest judge, photographer Tim Robinson.

Commenting on Tejas' winning image, Tim said,

There are a lot of elements in this image that come together to tell a great story. The minimalist composition has been created by using a fast shutter speed, which has created great contrast and drama in the sharp water droplets of the waterfall. The lines lead you to the human subject, although small in the frame, stands out because the splash of red colour is not seen elsewhere in the image. The pose of the subject reflects that of a moment of serenity after perhaps a long hike to this location and to me it screams the great outdoors. Well done on a great image and story.

Tim Robinson is the creator of the TV program ’Snap Happy, the photography show’. He has been shooting professional video for over 2 decades, with a focus on telling people’s stories through documentary. He is a keen wildlife and nature photographer and loves the opportunity to combine his passion of film making with photography.
