One of the world's longest running photographic publications has successfully ensured its future through an online crowdfunding campaign.
The campaign recently announced by the British Journal of Photography has raised more than the target £150,000 from 85 investors in under 48 hours.
According to a campaign blurb a minimum outlay of £10 will see potential investors "own a piece of the one of the oldest photographic institutions."
According to BJP the crowdfunding will allow its readers to participate in the growth of a magazine that started as a weekly trade journal and grew in to an international brand.
The additional funds will be used to facilitate coverage of every aspect of the photographic industry including gallery shows and large exhibitions, photobooks and DIY zines.
The British Journal of Photography also has a year-round events programme, including International Photography Awards, educational workshops and the Portrait of Britain competition.
The magazine's online archive which dates back to the 1850s now features over 180,000 pages.
