The Manly Art Gallery and Museum will host a new exhibition of works by artist-in-residence, Australian fine-art photographer Chuck Bradley.
By Armani Nimerawi
As part of his new series of work, 'Nostalgica', Chuck Bradley drew inspiration from an eclectic array of beach-related objects to create 22 evocative still-life narratives.
Named Manly Art Gallery and Museum's artist-in-residence during the month of March, Bradley set up a studio inside the gallery and was allowed access to not only the Gallery and Museum's exhaustive library of artefacts, but also that of the Manly Surf Life Saving Club. These extensive collections included Manly-related artefacts that have been collected or donated over the years, with some objects dating back to the early 1900s.
'Nostalgica' is part of the 2013 Head On Photo Festival and will be launched at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum by Australian photographer Tim Hixson on Friday 3 May 2011, from 6pm. The exhibition will also include an artist's talk on 26 May at 3pm.
'Nostalgica' will be exhibited from April 26 to June 23.
