Photographer and director Chris Sisarich is showing his 'I Am Here' exhibition at Black Eye Gallery in Sydney.

New Zealand photographer and director Chris Sisarich, with composer Peter Hobb, has a multi-media, multi-sensory experience, made up of 16 photographic works, and video and sound installations, showing at the Black Eye Gallery in Sydney from April 8 to 26.

Sisarich says I Am Here focuses on existence, and the idea of having an objective reality or being. Sisarich and Hobbs say they are playing with the immediate experience and “the relationship between sound and imagery, both still and motion”.

“Each photograph is a living world in itself," says Sisarich. "It's a past record of one relative moment in space-time, but it also lives now, communicating and imparting feelings. Music is similar; it truly lives when we experience it, and our feelings bring it to life."

Hobb says, "I have always loved the merger of visuals and sound. They have a sometimes sublime, sometimes tempestuous relationship. It’s a dynamic relationship I personally find highly stimulating and the result of the marriage always seems more than the sum of its parts."

I Am Here will be shown at the Black Eye Gallery, 3/138 Darlinghurst Rd, Darlinghurst, NSW, from April 8 to 26. The gallery is open from Tuesday through to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm. Contact blackeyegallery.com.au
