Speaking about the shot, Jenn said:

First and foremost all the photographers for this month’s competition must be acknowledged for being selected in the shortlist, no doubt with the numbers of entries, that in its self is a triumph and what a great diverse range of images they are. Well done!

The image I selected for this months’ Canon prize demonstrated both creativity and technical skills when considering a new angle. This equestrian portrait caught my eye for a few reasons, there is a delicate balance of texture and detail throughout the image which my eyes enjoying exploring the little hairs on its chin up across the jawline and following the light down to the smooth texture on its chest. The photographers decision to process this to black and white highlights the contrast, detail and clarity with the image perfectly.

Thanks to the amazing team at Canon Australia, Iesha has won a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III valued at $1210.

Over on Facebook, our people's choice winner this month with more than 200 likes was Frozen in time by Thomas Poisot. Thomas takes home a 12-month digital subscription to the photo mag of his choice – Australian Photography or Capture.
