April 'Shoot a mag cover' Free monthly photo comp: The winners!

From a whopping 1,200+ entries, we've selected the winner of our free monthly photo comp for April, where we asked you to shoot a magazine cover.

A huge congratulations to Dwayne Bridgland and his image Dancing mangroves, which has been chosen as our winner by AP Ed Mike O'Connor.

"What I was looking for was an image that I really could imagine running on the cover," said Mike.

"That means something with clear space for coverlines and a masthead, a strong, identifiable subject, and finally and most importantly, that x-factor that makes you go 'wow!'. Dwayne's shot had all those elements, and more."

Mike also chose two special mentions, Wade Cramer's perfectly timed Mr, and Hanne Matthews quirky Other Side.

Over on Facebook, Cliff Gralton's imager Water Lily Reflection took out the People's choice vote, with 88 likes at competition close. 

As overall winner, Dwayne Bridgland wins an A0 print on his paper of choice (Canson brand paper 100% cotton rag in Matt or Satin finish) thanks to the awesome team at NarreWarren Fine Art Printing and Framing. 

And for taking out the people's choice, Cliff Gralton wins a 12-month digital subscription to either AP or Capture.
