AP's free monthly photo competition December '25 - The winners!
Congratulations to Jessica Tormey, and her image Chicken baby which has won AP's free monthly photo comp for December. The theme was a tough one - your favourite shot of 2025.
Jessica's image is not only a stunning example of black and white photography, with wonderful contrast, it also has a great story behind it too.
"At first I thought this chick was dead," she says.
“ I took it inside, set my light up and rallied my favourite assistant, my son. The heat from the light and my son's hands warmed the chick up and it gave out a tiny chirp. I warmed her up some more and she came right back to life, and went happily back with her mumma."
For taking out the judge's choice, Jessica wins a 12-month print subscription to AP magazine.
We also chose three special mentions, Andy Y's At the fish market, Robert Skidmore's, Triplets Strike hits Coleyville and Rob Wood's, Rodeo Rider.
Over on Facebook, Jen Blackstock took out the People's choice with her fantastic image In the dust, which had 219 votes at competition close. Jen wins a 12-month digital subscription to AP for taking out the People's choice.
If you'd like to enter our free monthly photon comp, the theme for Jan '26 is Summer, and you can enter here.
