AP's free monthly photo comp September 2025 'Things that fly': The Winners!

Congratulations to Ann Parrott, and her image Gateway to the Outback, which has won AP's free monthly photo comp for September. The theme was 'Things that fly'.

We loved the image because it has a real sense of story and a creative take on our theme. There's something about that feeling of arriving the red centre - the red dust, the remoteness, the heat, that all captivate the soul. We also loved the addition of Uluru in the frame to really place the image. One to savour.

Ann takes home a 12-month print subscription to AP magazine for winning the monthly photo comp.

We also chose two special mentions, Chantelle Polley, Wheels over wings, and Konnor Kwan, Blades.

Over on Facebook, Jules Guthridge took out the People's choice, with her image Nestled in the Morning Light bagging more than 60 votes at competition close.
