AP's free monthly photo comp October 2025: The winners!

Congratulations to Craig McGowan, who has won our free monthly photo comp for October. The theme was 'City'.

We thought the image stood out for its sense of unique scale and seemingly never-ending buildings, captured from an angle that really makes the viewer seem insignificant. It's also a wonderfully bright and colourful shot, with lots of interesting details to explore, making it deserving of the honours this month.

Craig takes home a 12-month print subscription to Australian Photography for taking out the competition this month. 

We also chose two special mentions, Steve Puli's Bridge between two hats, and Kim Talento's Harbour glow.

Over on Facebook, Taylor Aspinall won the People's choice, for their image Order in the abyss, which had more than 40 likes at competition close. 

Taylor wins a 12-month digital subscription to AP for taking out the People's Choice.
