Adobe has released a free public beta version of Photoshop Lightroom 5, the latest version of its popular image management and editing software. The beta version will stop working when the full version of Lightroom 5 is released later in the year.
Lightroom 5 beta is the fifth consecutive version of the software that has been offered for public preview and testing prior to the final release.
New features in Lightroom 5 for Windows and Mac include: • Advanced Healing Brush to heal imperfections and remove distracting elements; • Upright tool to automatically level horizons, straighten objects like buildings and correct keystone effect; • Radial Gradient tool for off-centre and multiple vignette effects; • Smart Previews to edit images without needing the original raw file; • Video slideshow to combine still images, video clips and music in an HD slideshow; • Upgrades to the Book module to make it easier to create, customize and order photo books using a variety of tailored templates.
