We're delighted to announce our flagship annual photo competition, the 2022 Photographer of the Year, is now open for entries.

Now in its tenth year, Photographer of the Year presented by Camera House is the biggest competition for amateur photographers in the Southern hemisphere. Winners and runners up in the 2022 edition of the competition will share in more than $22,000 in cash and prizes.

The overall winner of Photographer of the Year will win $3,000 in Camera House vouchers.

Our other category prizes include gift vouchers, Lacie, SanDisk and WD storage, an Epson printer, a Nokia Smartphone, a BenQ image-editing monitor and gear from MSI, as well as $10,000 cash. You can see all the category prizes on our competition page.

After a hiatus last year, and the resumption of travel globally, we've brought back Travel, a new portfolio category for 2022.

All our other categories, including People, Black and White, Landscape, Animal and Nature, Mobile, Creative, Junior and Single Shot (Previously Photo of the Year) are back for 2022.

As always, the winners, runners-up and top-finalists in the competition will feature in our special Photographer of the Year issue of AP magazine in February 2023, with our winners to be chosen by a panel of professional photographers who will be announced shortly.

Finally a huge thank you to our amazing sponsors Camera HouseWDSandisk, BenQEpsonMSI, Lacie, Seagate, and Nokia for their support of photographers in Australia and New Zealand.

Pre-earlybird entries are open now. You can enter the competition here.
