A new photographic competition is aiming to document history through photography, by encouraging photographers to capture their perspective on Covid-19.

Run by NSW photographer Glenn McKimmin, 2020iSOLATiON is part photographic competition, part social documentary project, with finalist images in the competition to be printed into a book to be published later in the year.

The competition has been organised as a direct response to the crisis facing the photographic industry, McKimmin explains.

"Industries, business and all of humanity are struggling through the Covid-19 Pandemic. My hope is that through photography we can all unite and document this era of humanity," he says.

"Governments are saying we are living through a once in a 100 year event, it will be something that the human race will talk about for generations to come. For anyone that loves to take photos this is an opportunity for us to collectively unite and use the power of photography to document this part of our collective history."

To enter, photographers can enter an image that reflects their unique experience of the Covid19 2020 isolation. Images can be uploaded via the 2020isolation website, with each entry receiving an A4 print of their image.

You can also follow the competition on instagram via the #2020isolation hashtag and @2020isolation insta page.
