Voigtlander release details and price of 110mm F2.5 Macro APO-Lanthar lens

German lens manufacturer Voigtlander have announced their newest lens, the 110mm F2.5 Macro APO-Lanthar lens for Sony E-mount.

Due to begin shipping in August, the lens was first announced at CP+ in March. The manual focus only lens offers 1:1 macro and a closest focusing distance of 35cm. Inside are three floating lens groups for focusing, and manufacturer Cosina says there is apochromatic correction to produce high resolution and detailed images on full frame Sony sensors.

There are also electric contacts that can transmit aperture and focusing information to the camera which will be recorded in the camera EXIF data. Cosina says the lens will also work with Sony's in-body image stabilisation. 

Local pricing has not been confirmed, but the Japanese website has listed the APO-Lanther at a price of ¥148,000 – approximately $1,800AUD before tax.
