Venus Optics expands tilt-shift lens offerings

Venus Optics has launched the Laowa 35mm f/2.8 Zero-D Tilt-Shift 0.5× Macro lens, expanding its tilt-shift lens lineup.

The new lens combines wide-angle perspective, tilt-shift functionality, and macro capabilities in a compact design and is compatible with a variety of lens mounts, from most of the major full-frame mirrorless options, along with GFX/XCD medium-format systems.

The lens offers ±10 degrees of tilt and ±12mm of shift for full-frame cameras. Medium-format systems provide ±10 degrees of tilt and ±8mm of shift.

These adjustments allow photographers to control perspective, extend depth of field, and reduce reflections directly in-camera.

Part of Laowa's Zero-D line, the lens provides minimal optical distortion and uses an apochromatic design to reduce chromatic aberration.

The lens has an 87.5-degree angle of view and a maximum magnification of 0.5× with a minimum focusing distance of 22.8 cm.

This enables detailed macro photography for product shots, tabletop scenes, and close-ups, and the shift function can also be used to create stitched panoramas.

The lens has a fast f/2.8 aperture for low-light shooting, a 77mm filter thread, adjustable tilt-shift direction in 15-degree increments, integrated Arca-Swiss lens support for tripods, and a water- and dirt-repellent 'Frog-Eye' coating on the front element.

The Laowa 35mm f/2.8 Zero-D Tilt-Shift 0.5× Macro lens will be available from November 25, 2025, through the Venus Optics website and authorised resellers.

It retails for $1,249 USD ($1,930 AUD).
