Tamron announces three new f/2.8 primes for Sony E-Mount
Tamron has announced three new compact f/2.8 prime lenses for full-frame Sony mirrorless bodies: the Di III OSD M1:2 lenses in 20, 24 and 35mm focal lengths.
All three lenses are the same size and weight (around 215g) and use the same 67mm filter thread. The trio use a combination of aspherical and low-dispersion elements, and Tamron's BBAR coating to manage flare. The lenses are sealed against dust and moisture.
Despite the relatively narrow minimum aperture, the three lenses feature a 1:2 magnification ratio and very close minimum focus distances of 11 to 15cm which should make them suitable for macro photography.
The lenses are expected to retail for AU$699, and should be in consumers' hands in November (24 and 35mm) and January (20mm).
