Tamron announces 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 lens
Tamron has announced the 25-200mm F2.8-5.6 Di III VXD G2 (Model A075), a new all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. It’s set to arrive in Australia on 20 November 2025.
The lens is the follow-up to Tamron’s popular 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 RXD, now updated with a wider 25mm starting point while keeping the same 200mm reach. Tamron says it delivers improved image quality, faster autofocus, and a refreshed design.
Focusing is powered by the company’s VXD linear motor system, which promises quick and accurate autofocus for stills and video. At the wide end, the lens also offers half-macro capabilities with a 1:1.9 magnification ratio, making it useful for close-up work.
The 25-200mm G2 is compatible with Tamron’s Lens Utility software, allowing users to tweak settings from a smartphone, tablet or computer. It also keeps the familiar 67mm filter thread found on many of Tamron’s mirrorless lenses, and features smoother zoom and focus rings along with an updated exterior finish.
Compact, versatile and easy to carry, the new lens looks set to be a solid all-rounder for photographers who want a single lens that can handle a wide range of shooting situations.
