Sigma announces new mirrorless lenses
Sigma has announced a pair of new mirrorless lenses - the 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports lens, and the 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary lens for APS-C.
200mm f/2 DG OS Sports
The first 200mm f/2 model designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports lens will be available for Sony E and Leica L mounts.
The lens has 19 elements in 14 groups, including FLD and SLD glass, and an 11-blade circular diaphragm. Aperture ranges from f/2 to f/22, with a minimum focusing distance of 170 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:7.6. Filter size is 105 mm.
Autofocus is driven by a High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor, while in-lens stabilisation offers up to 6.5 stops of correction. The lens is dust- and splash-resistant and is built within Sigma’s Sports line design.
According to Sigma, the 200mm focal length combined with the wide f/2 aperture makes the lens suitable for portraiture and indoor sports photography.
12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary
Sigma has also announced the 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary lens for APS-C cameras. It will be available in Sony E, Fujifilm X and Canon RF mounts.
The lens has 14 elements in 12 groups, including two SLD and three aspherical elements. It uses a nine-blade circular diaphragm and produces 18-point sunstars at its minimum aperture of f/16.
The lens accepts 62mm filters, focuses as close as 17.2 cm and offers a maximum magnification ratio of 1:8.4. It will be supplied with a lens hood, front and rear caps, and a soft pouch.
Both the 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports and the 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary are scheduled for global release on 4 September 2025.
In Australia, Sigma lenses are distributed by CR Kennedy.
