Sigma has launched its first lenses for Fujifilm's APS-C X mount.

Three lenses will launch locally in April - the 16mm F1.4 DC DN, 30mm F1.4 DC DN and 56mm F1.4 DC DN. All three feature a large 1.4 aperture, are compatible with in camera stabilisation and are dust and splash resistant.

The three lenses are currently already available in four other mounts (Sony E-mount, Canon EF-M mount, Micro Four Thirds mount, and L-Mount), so should be nearly identical to their siblings. The lenses feature stepping motors for AF and a nine-bladed aperture diaphragm.

However, Sigma says the ‘control algorithm, including AF drive and communication speed optimisation, has been developed specifically for X mount interchangeable lenses.’

All three lenses will use Sigma’s “Super Multi-Layer Coating” that the company says reduces flare and ghosting to help produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit environments.

Local distributor CR Kennedy hasn't released any pricing information on the new glass yet, so keep an eye on the Sigma Australia website for more info.
