Sandisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD launches

SanDisk has announced a new SSD aimed at photographers and videographers.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD offers transfer speeds of up to 1050MB/s, and features a ruggedized design with a 'forged' aluminium body that protects its solid-state core to effectively dissipate heat to keep the drive running at top speed.

The drive also features a silicon rubber coating to protect from impacts and is IP55 rated for water and dust resistance. 

Available now in 500GB and 1TB capacities, with a 2TB capacity to launch at a later date, the drive is compatible with both PC and Mac and connects with USB Type-C™ and Type-A connectors, and includes a limited 5-year warranty.

The 500GB* and 1TB* capacities are available now at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and Harvey Norman. MSRP starts at AUD $259 for 500GB or AUD $399 for 1TB. Availability of the 2TB capacity will be announced at a later date.
