More than five years after the original GH5 debuted, Panasonic has teased the impending launch of the company’s next Micro Four Thirds camera, the Lumix GH6.

According to the teaser on Facebook, the camera will be announced via a YouTube livestream at 12pm AEDT on February 22, 2022.

On the company's US webpage, Panasonic shared a teaser image that shows off much of the top-half of the camera body. Design-wise it looks to take some of the DNA of the S-series of cameras, while keeping the familiar red ring at the base of the adjustment dial seen on the GH5 II.

According to Panasonic, the GH6 will have a new high-speed, Micro Four Thirds sensor that’s capable of shooting 5.7K/60p video. This will apparently be paired with a new Venus Engine Image Processor which will support high frame-rate modes, including 10-bit 4K/120p video.
