Panasonic announce 70-200mm f/2.8 and 16-35mm f/4 lenses for L-Mount

Panasonic has announced two new lenses for L-Mount, the Lumix S Pro 70-200mm F2.8, and the Lumix S PRO 16-35mm F4.

Weighing in at 1570g, the 70-200mm F2.8  comprises 22 elements in 17 groups, these are made up of one aspherical, three Extra-low Dispersion and two 'Ultra Extra-Low' Dispersion lenses.

There's also optical stabilisation built-in, which can be combined with Panasonic's in-camera 'Dual IS 2' system for a total of seven stops of shake reduction. The lens is also dust and water-resistant, and offers a minimum focus distance of 1m.

Panasonic have also announced the Lumix S Pro 16-35mm F4, a compact wide-angle zoom. Optically, the lens features 12 elements in nine groups, made up of three aspherical elements, one extra-low dispersion element and one ultra extra-low dispersion lens. The lens accepts 77mm filters and weighs 500g.  

The new lenses will be available in Australia in January. The 70-200mm has an RRP of $4,299, and the the 16-35mm an RRP of $2,499. You can find out more at Panasonic.
