Panasonic adds compact 20mm F2.5 to L-Mount range

Panasonic has announced the LUMIX S 20mm F2.5 (S-S20), a compact full-frame L-Mount lens designed for travel, street, landscape and video photography.

Weighing around 142g and measuring 40.9mm long, the lens combines a 20mm ultra-wide focal length with a bright F2.5 aperture. It focuses as close as 0.18m and uses three aspherical elements to deliver sharpness across the frame.

For video, the lens is designed to minimise focus breathing and features fast, silent autofocus. A customisable Lens Fn button and control ring are also included.

The lens has dust-, splash- and freeze-resistant construction, along with a fluorine coating on the front element. Panasonic says it is particularly suited to the compact LUMIX S9.

The LUMIX S 20mm F2.5 will be available from October for $849 RRP in black or light silver.
