Olympus has announced a new, lightweight, ultra wide-angle zoom lens for its Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO lens.

The new standard lens has a 35mm equivalent focal range of 16-50mm.

Inside are 16 elements in 10 groups, including a large DSA lens specifically included to 'significantly reduce' sagittal comatic aberration. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 23cm, and takes a 72mm filter.

On the exterior, there's an L-Fn button and manual clutch focus ring, and the lens is all wrapped up with splashproof and dustproof features that are IPX1 equivalent and give the lens freezeproof performance down to -10°C.

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4.0 PRO lens will be available in late June 2021, and has an RRP of AU$1599. You can find out more about the new lens at Olympus.
